BOYS COMPETITIVE TEAM
Men’s Gymnastics is not only an amazing sport to
watch, but it is also excellent for the development of young men’s bodies and
minds.Whether your boy takes
recreational gymnastics or competes on team, the benefits are endless. Gymnastics
develops an awesome muscle structure in boys, improves their balance and
flexibility and encourages a sense of accomplishment and self-esteem.
Competitive Men’s Gymnastics allows them to compete against other boys with
similar skill levels at meets all over the Midwest. This is a Team building
environment with tons of support from the coaching staff, parent groups and
other teammates. Men’s competitive Gymnastics begins at Level 4. Higher-level
gymnasts have the opportunity to compete not only at local meets, but also
State sponsored meets, Regional meets and National meets. Exceptional young men
can even compete for a spot on the United States competitive team and even the
Olympic Team. This sport will not only encourage
boys to better their bodies, but also boosters responsibility for ones actions
and also shows the benefits of hard work through the awards process at meets. Men’s
gymnastics is an excellent, well-rounded and exciting sport.

The Men’s team competes six
different disciplines of gymnastics:
- Floor Exercise-
The Floor exercise takes place on a 40ft x 40ft padded, carpeted and
spring-loaded floor where the gymnasts performs tumbling skills in an exact
order. The floor exercise demonstrates
strength, flexibility and balance.
- Pommel Horse -
The pommel is considered by most to be the most difficult apparatus in Men’s
gymnastics. The gymnasts must hold
their body above the Horse on two pommels while completing numerous strength
and flexibility swings and holds.
- Still Rings –
The still rings are suspended 8 ft. above the floor and the Gymnasts perform
strength and control maneuvers while on the rings.
- Vault –
The vault exercise uses a springboard to propel the gymnasts up and over the
vault at which time the gymnast will perform one of many dozens of different
maneuvers.
- Parallel Bars-
The gymnast has to travel above the and between the wooden bars on his
hands, or on one hand.
- Horizontal
Bar- The horizontal Bar is 8ft. above the floor and
the gymnasts perform swings, turns, circles around the bar, and spectacular
release and catch moves.
